After a weekend of wild weather which saw severe storms sweep across much of Australia, Queensland is facing a round of intense rainfall and potentially dangerous thunderstorms heading into Tuesday.
Sky News Weather Meteorologist Tamsin Green said the unstable weather pattern responsible for the weekend’s chaos was showing no signs of slowing, with severe storms developing along the east coast.
“Well, more storms are expected through the course of this afternoon and evening. That's thanks to all of that instability stretching up along the coast of Queensland,” Green said.
“Now, the risk of storms is expected to be quite widespread, but we are expecting severe storms generally between Mackay and Maroochydore, and potentially some very isolated, dangerous storms in the Wide Bay and Burnet
