KILGORE, Texas — A pedestrian was killed Friday night after he was struck by a truck in Kilgore.

Police say David Ray Whisenhunt, 64, of Kilgore, failed to yield right-of-way to a 2017 Ram pickup truck while walking across the eastbound traffic lanes of State Highway 31 in the city of Kilgore. The truck's driver was traveling eastbound in the 100 block of SH 31 East when the truck struck Whisenhunt around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

Whisenhunt immediately passed away at the crash scene, according to the Kilgore Police Department.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
