NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pasco County teacher accused of killing her 6-year-old son will remain behind bars, a judge ruled during a pretrial hearing on Monday.

Justine Mroz, 40, appeared in court Monday wearing an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.

Mroz faced Judge Mary Handsel for a pre-trial detention hearing. Her Orlando-based attorney waived the hearing as prosecutors asked that she be held without bond.

"You're going to be held zero bond, no bond. You can't bond out," Handsel said during the hearing. "If at another time you decide you want the hearing, your lawyer can file, and we'll set a date."

Mroz only spoke briefly, answering the judge's questions as her attorney handled the discussion.
