Democratic members of Michigan's U.S. House delegation have urged the Trump administration to use contingency funds to continue food assistance for some 1.4 million Michiganders during the federal shutdown.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has informed Michigan and other states it intends to pause food assistance payments under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, after Nov. 1.
