Hitting out at the Election Commission (EC) over the alleged anomalies in the voters’ list of Maharashtra ahead of civic body polls, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray on Monday warned that if the anomalies in the voters’ list are not rectified before the civic body polls, the Opposition parties will jointly decide whether to allow civic body polls to take place.

Uddhav also asked his party leaders to file a case against EC and said that once the Opposition bloc comes power at the Centre, action would be initiated against the national poll body.

“If the EC doesn’t rectify the errors in the voters’ list, the EC will not be able to conduct the local body elections,” Thackeray said while addressing a gathering of Sena (UBT) deputy branch heads at the Nirdhar Melava at Worli Dome.
