A three-alarm fire raged through an auto body shop owned by a New Jersey mayor on Sunday, causing nearby roadways to be shut down as firefighters and emergency crews worked at the scene, according to officials.
JD Automotive & Truck Inc. in Dover appeared to have been gutted by a large blaze that tore through the two-story building on Richards Avenue.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office on Monday announced an investigation, which includes Dover police, the county fire marshal and a team from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.
Dover police and firefighters first responded to the blaze around 7:30 p.m.. No one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported, the prosecutor’s office said.
