The Halloween weather forecast map for Oct. 31, 2025.

How will the weather affect the goblins, ghosts and ghouls in your neighborhood on Halloween evening? Here's your weather forecast:

While much of the nation is forecast to be rain-free on Halloween, that won't be the case in the Northwest or New England, where rain is expected to be widespread, likely dampening trick-or-treat activities.

The greatest risk of heavy rain with strong winds will be in northern New England, according to AccuWeather, as a storm moves to the north. It is possible that rain totals could easily be in the 2- to 3-inch range as the storm lifts into New England by Oct. 31 (Halloween), according to Fox Weather.

In Bangor, Maine, rain is likely with temperatures in the low 50s, the National Weather Service said.

Blustery, showery Northeast and Midwest

Other than New England, blustery and showery conditions are likely for at least part of the day and evening on Halloween across the rest of the Northeast and the upper Midwest.

"Wind gusts could get strong enough to blow around decorations and pose the risk of falling branches and tree limbs on Halloween, from the Great Lakes to the Northeast," said AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski in an online forecast.

In New York City, temperatures should be in the low 50s or upper 40s, the National Weather Service said, with rather raw, blustery conditions likely.

Nasty Northwest

In the Northwest, a storm system will come ashore by Halloween, spreading coastal and valley rain and some mountain snow.

In Seattle, rain is forecast with temperatures in the low 50s.

In addition to the precipitation, winds could also be increasingly gusty from the Pacific Northwest to the Northern Rockies.

Southwest is best

Clear weather and warm temperatures are on tap for most of California and the Southwest, forecasters said.

According to Weather.com, just a few passing clouds and mild temperatures are likely to make these regions quite nice for trick-or-treating this year. Afternoon temps in the 60s, 70s and 80s will drop into the 50s and 60s after sundown.

In Los Angeles, for example, temperatures are forecast to be in the low 70s or high 60s under clear skies, the weather service said.

Cool, tranquil Southeast

Mostly tranquil but cool weather is likely in the Southeast, with temperatures falling through the 40s and 50s in the Tennessee Valley and Carolinas and the 50s and 60s along the Gulf Coast, according to Weather.com.

Atlanta will see temperatures in the 50s with clear skies, the weather service said.
