A 51-year-old Bozeman woman charged with arson and homicide in the death of 44-year-old Robert Welch of Bozeman in King Arthur Trailer Court this past Wednesday saw her bail set at $500,000 on Monday morning.

Judge Bryan Adams was presiding in the case of Beth Bakken, who is charged with deliberate homicide in the incident at 18 Bedivere Boulevard in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday.

Welch was found deceased in a white Dodge van. An investigation and autopsy performed by the by the Montana State Medical Examiner later determined that he died of smoke inhalation and that he was alive at the time of the fire.
