Posters went up in the halls at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in late September, letting students know about a frightfully good opportunity to help people in need.

“We Scare Hunger” is back for a second year at the Grimsby school, with all food collected during the month-long food drive going to GBF Community Services .

“I’m pretty sure we have 10 boxes of food so far, but we’re collecting until Friday ,” said Charlotte Veld, the 13-year-old president of the student council and one of the food drive leaders.

Each class at the kindergarten to Grade 8 school has a donation box it can fill.

“It’s been going well,” said 12-year-old Grade 7 student Julia Pearson, another student leader overseeing the food drive.
