NEW ORLEANS —

A Memphis man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that happened in September in the Central Business District.

William French, 27, of Memphis, Tenn., was arrested in Harris County, Texas, on Oct. 13 and was transported to Orleans Parish on Oct. 22. Advertisement

According to police, around 12:22 a.m. on Sept. 28 in the 300 block of Loyola Avenue, police responded to the area due to shots being fired.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man identified as Joshua Bester, 23, with gunshot wounds.

NOPD was able to identify French as the perpetrator in the incident and an arrest warrant was obtained.

French is being charged with one count of second-degree murder.
