(FOX40.COM) — After the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program would issue no benefits will be issue on Nov. 1, DoorDash launched an Emergency Food Response on Monday.

Due to the government standoff leaving federally funded programs at a halt, SNAP benefits for over 40 million Americans may not be released in the following months. As the U.S. is 27 days into the shutdown, federal funds are running out, limiting government organizations and programs.

DoorDash is promoting its effort to support those who rely on SNAP through its Emergency Food Response. The effort will power delivery on behalf of food banks and pantries to those who would usually receive SNAP benefits.
