The NSE Nifty 50 index rose 171 points, or 0.66%, to close at 25,966, while the S&P BSE Sensex gained 567 points, or 0.67%, to end at 84,779. The Nifty Bank index advanced 415 points to 58,114, while the Nifty Midcap 100 added 549 points to 59,780.
