TORONTO — Davis Alexander's record-setting start to his CFL career won't be affected by the league playoffs.
The Montreal quarterback is 11-0 as a starter, the best mark in league history by a quarterback to begin his CFL career. But that's a regular-season record, meaning if the Alouettes lose Saturday to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the East Division semifinal, it won't count against Alexander.
He would still open the 2026 campaign having recorded 11 consecutive regular-season victories.
As well, if Alexander leads Montreal to a Grey Cup title, he'd be credited with three playoff victories and his 11-0 regular-season mark would remain as is. According to the CFL, regular-season and post-season records are treated as separate entities.
