Bristol City have announced that their former player Marvin Brown has died at the age of 42 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Brown overcame a bout of colon cancer in 2022, but had been receiving end-of-life care treatment for cholangiocarcinoma, an aggressive and rare bile duct cancer, in recent months.

A former England Under-17 international, Brown holds the record for being the youngest-ever player to represent Bristol City having debuted for the club aged just 16 and 17 days in 1999.

He later went on to represent teams such as Cheltenham Town, Yeovil Town, Forest Green Rovers, Weston-super-Mare and Chippenham Town across a playing career spanning over 13 years.
