Radio star Robin Bailey has opened up about the shock axing of her popular show Robin & Kip with Corey Oates, hitting out at an industry she says cares more about “money than connection” in a sorrowful social media post.
Bailey and fellow hosts Kip Wightman and Oates lost their Brisbane breakfast show on KIIS 97.3 last Thursday, with Bailey writing that seven people had been caught up in the shock cull.
“Seven amazing, talented, kind and compassionate people lost their jobs last Thursday,” she posted to Instagram on Sunday.
“Our industry cares more about money than connection.
“But we are here for the next eight weeks and I know this may be my last ever commercial radio gig so after 35 years I desperately want to leave on a high and be number one!
“So 8.20 tomorrow on KIIS 97.3 Brisba
