STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WKBN) - West Middlesex girls golf captured the PIAA 2A Girls Golf Championship on Penn State's White Golf Course in State College last week.

The Big Reds won by five strokes (237) over runner-up Fairview (242).

West Middlesex's Reagan Diaz sank the title-clinching putt on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The win marks the program's first golf state championship and the first female Big Reds team to win a state title.

The Big Red's Kate Sowers shot even par on PSU's White Course with a score of 72 strokes. Also, Paige Sowers shot a 75 (+3) and Diaz (+15) in the victory.

Not included in the scoring were West Middlesex's Kylie Kimpan (93) and Lila Kimmel (101).
