Three years after Hurricane Ian tore through Southwest Florida, destroying parts of one of the region’s most recognizable cultural landmarks, Venice Theatre is beginning to stand tall again.

The community-based theater celebrated a long-awaited construction milestone this month — the “topping out” of its rebuilt main stage and Jervey Theatre, marking the highest point in its $25 million restoration and expansion project. The theatre development team has raised more than 80% of the $25 million it needs to fully restore the building and reopen.
