Voters in communities throughout Southwest Michigan will head to the polls next Tuesday to decide a variety of ballot questions, and in some cases, to elect their municipal leaders.

In Benton Harbor, two at-large seats on the city commission will be filled. The candidates are Commissioner Duane Seats, former Commissioner Mary Alice Adams, and newcomers Deidre Field and Shaquille Turner. Adams and Turner got the most votes in the primary back in August. Also in Benton Harbor, two ward seats are being decided, but both of those races are uncontested. The incumbents are Juanita Henry and Ethel Clark Griffin.

In St. Joseph, three city commissioners will be elected out of a field of six. The candidates are Commissioner Michael Sarola, Commissioner Michael Fernandez, and newcomers Kim Jorgense
