The Los Angeles Dodgers are giving Alex Vesia his space.

The day after the MLB team announced that the pitcher was “away from the team” to “navigate a deeply personal family matter” with his pregnant wife Kayla Vesia , the organization explained their decision to ultimately leave him off their 2025 World Series roster, meaning he likely won’t have the chance to participate in the championship series.

“We just didn’t want to have any potential for any kind of pressure,” Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman told reporters Oct. 24. “This is so much bigger than baseball. For us, it was doing whatever small part we could to just 100 percent be supportive.”
