(NewsNation) — Guillermo del Toro is making his stance on generative AI clear: He’d “rather die” than use it in his films.

“AI, particularly generative AI — I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested,” he told NPR in an interview.

In a nod to his own work, the Academy Award-winning director compared the technology to the "arrogance" displayed by Oscar Isaac's titular mad scientist in the director's Netflix adaptation of “Frankenstein.” • Composer Alexandre Desplat, from left, producer J.
