GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - On day 27 of the government shutdown, advocacy group Courageous Colorado stopped through Grand Junction with a message: that democrats and republicans may have more in common than national politics would have them think.

"While national politics continue to divide us," says founder Dr. Landon Mascareñaz, "there's so much that can bring us together at the local level." Dr. Mascareñaz and his team are on yet another statewide tour to foster relationships across party lines, encouraging Coloradans to refocus on their local communities, and away from national divisiveness.
