FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Multiple sewage overflows have been reported in various areas in Fairhope.

According to a news release from Fairhope Public Utilities, the overflows occurred after midnight, in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 27. Approximately five inches of rain displaced the untreated sewage.

Impacted areas include: • Morphy Avenue, possibly impacting Cowpen Creek • Valley Liftstation, possibly impacting Tatumville Gully • Rohr Liftstation, possibly impacting Waterhole Branch

Crews cleaned the area and placed signs in affected areas as soon as possible. FPU urges the public to use caution in the impacted areas and thoroughly cook fish and seafood.
