The St. Helens Spirit of Halloweentown celebration was recommended by The Washington Post as a "peak fall trip" to take.

The newspaper created a list of 11 peak fall trips for people who want to immerse themselves in "the full fall fantasy" before the busy holiday season arrives.

"Fall travel doesn’t have to feel like a task on your bucket list; it can feel like a treat," The Washington Post wrote. "Whether that’s a long weekend at a spa, a scenic road trip through a state park or a cabin rental with no plans beyond cider."

As part of its list, The Washington Post suggested visiting the small Oregon town of St. Helens, which was once the backdrop of the Disney film "Halloweentown," and still celebrates every year with the original set pieces and special celebrity guests.
