MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — A $500,000 state tourism grant is helping the Morton Mandan Public Library create a new hands-on space for art, learning, and cultural experiences.

The Tourism Makerspace Hub will transform part of the library’s upstairs area into a place where Morton County residents and North Dakota tourists can create, learn, and explore together — without the library ever closing its doors during construction.

The 3,100-square-foot space will include artisan-led workshops in pottery, beadwork, weaving, woodworking, and digital storytelling. Visitors will also find souvenir-making stations with screen printing, 3D printing, and laser engraving. A professional demonstration kitchen will host cooking classes and food programs that highlight North Dakota’s regional and Native America
