WINNSBORO, La. (KNOE) - Winnsboro plans to host the National Night Out Against Crime event. As Mayor Wallace and Sheriff Linder and Judge Sartin team up to prevent crime.

Mayor Wallace wants to gain the community’s trust. Mayor Wallace emphasizes that with Sheriff Linder becoming the new sheriff, it’s vital that the community becomes comfortable and very familiar with Sheriff Linder.

“What I’m trying to do myself, along with the sheriff and city judge, we’re trying to collaborate to speak with the parents and speak with the kids and find ways that we can put a dent in the crime here going around town,” Wallace says. “What you do with the national night out against crime is usually done in the area where it is high crime and high crime has been in this area. ”
