A suspect is in custody after he allegedly struck a Chicago police vehicle and allegedly fired gunshots at officers Monday afternoon.
According to Chicago police, an officer attempted to pull over the driver of a Jeep in the Jefferson Park neighborhood in the 4800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at approximately 4:08 p.m. Monday.
The driver struck the marked police vehicle with the Jeep, then fired a shot at the officer as they fled the scene, striking the squad car.
The officer was not injured by the gunfire, police said.
The fleeing suspect then struck another Chicago police vehicle in the 4500 block of North Meade, then fled the scene on foot. He was taken into custody in the 6100 block of West Eastwood, police said.
There were no reported injuries in either collision, police said.
