The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes in Louisiana over the weekend. Advertisement
The tornadoes touched down early Sunday morning in Tangipahoa and Livingston parishes.
The first tornado was an EF-0 tornado that formed around 4:39 a.m. in Whitehall in Livingston Parish with 75 mph winds.
The National Weather Service said mostly trees were damaged, and one house sustained minor roof damage and a large metal canopy.
The tornado likely began in the marsh before crossing Bear Island Road and continuing northeast back into the marsh.
The second tornado touched down around 4:30 a.m. near Robert in Tangipahoa Parish with 90 mph winds.
According to the NWS, multiple trees were downed and one tent was damaged.
