VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – An 11-year-old student was arrested on Monday after she wrote a “kill list” at her desk, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

In a release , deputies said staff at Riverview Learning Center notified a deputy after the student made and announced the list, which contained four names.

“She said she was just playing,” the release reads.

The girl now faces charges of making a written threat to kill and violation of probation.

A similar incident happened last month with an 11-year-old student at Southwestern Middle School, who reportedly wrote a kill list on his desk because he was “angry and having a bad day,” the VSO noted.
