MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man pleaded guilty to a 2023 murder case and was sentenced to 20 years on Monday, according to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office.

Calvin Mitchell, 35, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a shooting in 2023, where he shot the victim after a verbal confrontation.

In 2023, WREG reported that Mitchell Mitchell was wanted in connection with an execution-style shooting in Whitehaven in the summer of 2023 and was arrested for first-degree murder in October 2023.

He was taken into custody inside a fenced-in area outside a warehouse on Jackson Avenue.

The warehouse belongs to Hodge Auto Mart. The owner said he got an alert on his phone and saw four males rummaging through his building. Police captured a second suspect in a wooded area near the business.
