INDIANAPOLIS —

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced Monday a special legislative session to take place on Nov. 3 to consider altering the boundaries of Indiana's congressional districts.

It's a move state Democrats, like Rep. Wendy Dant Chesser of Jeffersonville, are condemning.

"They have not identified that there are mapping issues that they want, that need to be addressed outside of this political pressure to try to gain an advantage," she said.

"And poll after poll after poll that I've seen, this is not the time, nor is it necessary to be working on redrawing of congressional maps for political purposes," said House Democratic Leader Phil Giaquinta during a media gaggle on Monday.
