AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - The Amherst Survival Center is reassuring residents that its Food Pantry and meal services will remain open and fully stocked for all eligible community members.
As concerns grow over a possible government shutdown and its potential impact on food assistance programs, the Center’s Food Pantry team is ready to respond to any increase in demand.
“The news about potential SNAP disruptions is understandably frightening for many, especially those already managing tight budgets and food insecurity,” said Carleen Basler, interim executive director of the Amherst Survival Center. “We want our community to know — the Amherst Survival Center has plenty of food for everyone who needs it. We are here to help.”
