A small earthquake was felt on Monday afternoon in several Maryland communities.

The epicenter of the 2.5 magnitude earthquake was found south and east of Columbia, Maryland, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). There are no reports of any damage or injuries.

WJZ's Chief Meteorologist Derek Beasley said the earthquake was felt around 5:17 p.m. between U.S. 29 and Interstate 95. The depth of the earthquake was about 7.5 kilometers.

Small areas in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties and Baltimore City felt some of the earthquake, as well as communities in Howard County, including Clarksville, Savage, and Fulton, and down to Burtonsville in Montgomery County.
