FORT CARSON, Colo. (KKTV) - A grass fire broke out on the training grounds of Fort Carson on Monday.

The fire, reported to be in a designated training area, was confirmed by Fort Carson officials around noon.

As of 12:15 p.m., officials said the fire was 10 feet by 10 feet.

Officials said that crews were aware of the fire and are actively monitoring the area.

As of 6:32 p.m., the fire was still visible in the training area and appears to have grown. We have reached out to Fort Carson officials for updates.

At this time, the exact cause of the fire is unknown.
