While it may not be as dire as the 2023 season , Montana State has missed opportunities in the placekicking game this year.

Myles Sansted — who was so consistent in 2024 making 83 of 85 extra point attempts and 15 of 19 field goal attempts — has missed four PATs this year, along with a missed 45-yard FG attempt against South Dakota State and a blocked 42-yard FG attempt against Eastern Washington.

The misses have come from “a combination of things,” Sansted said Monday, including not trusting his teammates enough and putting too much pressure on himself.

“We do this for fun, and we do this to win games, obviously, and for our teammates," Sansted said. "So just reminding (myself) why I play this game and trusting everyone around me as well.”
