DENVER (KDVR) — Teams are searching the mountains of Clear Creek County for a pair of hikers, a mother and son, who were expected back on Sunday, but have still not returned.
According to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, teams were out in the field as of about 6:30 p.m. Monday to search for the duo, who were both expected to return from Echo Lake on Sunday afternoon or evening.
While crews were in the field, snow began falling, as did the temperature. Overnight temperatures in Colorado's high country could fall to the mid-teens overnight Monday, according to the FOX31 Pinpoint Weather Team.
Echo Lake is located along the Mount Blue Sky Scenic Drive, which has been closed for the season.
"Your positive thoughts for the missing hikers and rescue teams are appreciated," the sherif
