The World Series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3, with the series balanced at 1-1. Former D-back Max Scherzer will start for the Blue Jays, giving us even more reason to root for him. Hard to be believe he made his debut coming out of the 2008 D-backs’ bullpen. As I wrote at the time, “Tonight may be one of those games we look back on in twenty years and say: Yes, I remember seeing Scherzer make his major-league debut.” And here we are, more or less. Since then, Mex has made exactly 500 starts, including the playoffs, and is now aged forty-one. Does the old dog have one more fight in him? Hopefully so.
