ST. PAUL — It took a while, but the Minnesota Golf Association got it right.

During its annual meeting and awards dinner Monday, Oct. 27, at the Town and Country Club in St. Paul, the MGA awarded the Warren J. Rebholz Distinguished Service Award to the Brainerd lakes area’s most distinguished golf ambassador -- Glen Hasselberg of Staples.

Established in 1994, the Warren J. Rebholz Distinguished Service Award — affectionately known as the “Rebbie” — honors individuals whose passion, dedication, and service have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the game of golf in Minnesota and beyond.

Hasselberg spent more than five decades doing just that—shaping the lives of young golfers and building a legacy of sportsmanship, opportunity and excellence through high school golf.
