Residents from villages on the western and northern edges of Bengaluru have approached Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot , seeking his intervention to quash the long-delayed Peripheral Ring Road ( PRR ) project by the Bengaluru Development Authority ( BDA ), citing several legal violations.
Members of the PRR Raitha Haagu Niveshanadarara Sangha stated that Part-1 of the project has lapsed due to the expiry of the five-year period as per Section 27 of the BDA Act. “We have been suffering for the last 20 years. We have requested the Governor to consider the plight of around 20,000 families affected by the PRR Part-1 project,” said a member of the Sangha and resident of one of the 75 villages in the region.
The Sangha has also pointed out the absence of a Detailed Project Rep
