Though Jonathan Cain, the keyboardist and rhythm guitarist for Journey, does not have plans to quit the rock band immediately, he did announce plans to retire after the group completes its next two tours, scheduled to run through 2026 and 2027.

However, early on there was some confusion due to guitarist Neal Schon’s announcement.

Now Cain has come forward to say that he’ll remain an active member for the time being and is dedicated to the upcoming tours.

What’s more, he’s expressed that his plans are to retire at a later time when he’ll focus on family and his ministry — contemporary Christian music, worship leadership and his work with his wife, Pastor Paula White-Cain.
