SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- The University of Illinois Springfield has unveiled a new place to take a moment to reflect on campus… and it's much more than just a place to sit.

A new bench -- donated by Josh's Benches for Awareness -- serves as a resource for students who might struggle with their mental health. It was unveiled on Monday and is inscribed with the suicide prevention hotline.

School officials said it's meant to serve as a visible reminder to students that support is available.

Josh's Benches is a nonprofit dedicated to ending the stigma around mental health issues.
