IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWQC) - A fog-related crash on Highway 67 Friday morning killed a 43-year-old woman, left her husband with serious injuries and put their 9-year-old son in a coma at University of Iowa hospital.
Jaime Zank died in the crash that occurred during thick morning fog in Bettendorf. Her husband Joel suffered multiple fractures and is recovering, while their son Zander remains hospitalized and fighting for his life.
“My son lost his wife,” said David Zank, Jaime’s father-in-law.
