The Oklahoma Sooners are back in regroup mode after a 38-27 loss to Ole Miss, and as Toby Rowland and Chris Williams broke down on this week’s Oklahoma's Own Sports , two issues stand above the rest: quarterback play and special teams breakdowns.

Despite leading late in the third quarter and playing in front of one of the most electric home crowds of the season, Oklahoma couldn’t overcome a series of self-inflicted wounds. Turnovers, penalties, and missed opportunities piled up — and once again, the Sooners’ punt return unit proved costly.

“They’ve had a major gaffe three straight weeks Texas, South Carolina, and now Ole Miss,” Rowland said. “You can’t fumble a punt in the fourth quarter of a one-score game and expect to beat good teams.”
