MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two burglars used a handheld saw to break into a Memphis supermarket Monday morning, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
MPD said the break-in happened around 4 a.m. at Gordin's Foods & Butcher Shoppe on Prescott Road. Two men used a Sawzall, a powerful handheld saw, to cut a hole in metal siding and sneak into a cooler section of the store, according to police. Officers said the burglars used the same hole, above the produce section, to exit the store.
The burglars appeared to be targeting the supermarket's ATM, according to police. Video showed one man using the saw on the ATM, though he was unable to get any money from the machine.
