KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Kimberly School District’s special education department teamed up with the Kimberly/Hansen Police Department to hold a fundraiser for Special Olympics Idaho.

The Bagging for Bucks event gathered donations from shoppers at the Ridley’s Family Market on Monday to help provide funds for the event and athletes.

Mike Fitch, the law enforcement torch run liaison for Special Olympics Idaho, said they have been doing local fundraisers, each generating over $1,500 in donations.

Fitch said the donations from the community help show their support and sponsor an event all about inclusiveness. He also said that the organization needs donations to help provide athletes with the necessities they need to thrive.
