The Toronto Raptors lost centre Jakob Poeltl in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Poeltl played 24 minutes and went to the locker room early in the fourth before the team announced that he wouldn’t return with low back tightness.
There wasn’t one moment that seemed to force Poeltl from the contest, but the 30-year-old has been dealing with back pain since the pre-season.
On Monday, the Austrian big man shot just 1-for-6 from the field, scoring two points while grabbing two rebounds and handing out an assist. He also committed four turnovers and three fouls.
Entering the game against San Antonio, Poeltl had averaged 8.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the first three games of Toronto’s season.
