Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey is finally at peace with his Ashes infamy.
Carey initially struggled to cope with the controversy sparked by his stumping of Jonny Bairstow in the 2023 Ashes series that prompted wild scenes at the home of cricket, Lord’s.
Carey threw down the stumps as Bairstow wandered out of his crease, believing the end of an over had been called - it hadn’t, and the Englishman was given out.
With a home Ashes series looming, Carey insists he wants to take part in more big moments such as the Bairstow controversy.
“I want to be more involved this year, it’s what you play cricket for, is the really big series,” Carey told reporters in Adelaide on Tuesday.
