When Lisa laid eyes on Cosmo, the American Bulldog with the charming underbite, she wasn't sure they'd be a good match.
He was too large and too young, the Vincentia woman said, but she was willing to give it a trial and as soon as Cosmo was home from the Shellharbour Animal Shelter, Lisa realised he was the "absolute perfect dog".
"He's fit in perfectly into my life, I didn't think it would happen so quickly," she said.
"We're like an old couple, we sit on the lounge and watch TV, and he's just a lovely dog, he stole my heart."
Cosmo's story is not uncommon.
He spent nine months at the Shellharbour shelter, arriving in February after a concerned member of the public reported a dog roaming the streets in Shellharbour.
