WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A showcase for all seven Wichita public high school marching bands was held on Monday night.
The Band O Rama Marching Band Festival started with all of the bands combined to blast out a version of the Star Spangled Banner.
After that, they split up, each taking a moment in the spotlight.
"It's a big deal for us to perform in front of other bands. It's the most welcoming audience you can have, for everybody to understand what you've been working on for the last 3-4 months," Miranda Wilson, the director of bands at Wichita East High School, said.
Next up is the district's Choral Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 6, featuring choral groups from eight high schools. It will begin at 7 p.m. at Wichita Northeast Magnet High School.
