SRINAGAR: The Speaker of the Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday rejected an adjournment motion moved by MLA Pawan Gupta, who sought to discuss what he described as a “humanitarian crisis” in Jammu following recent weather-induced calamities. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp
The Speaker ruled that the issue did not qualify as a recent occurrence under the Assembly’s procedural rules. “You have already brought a similar resolution, and it will be discussed tomorrow,” the Speaker said while disallowing the motion.
Gupta had urged the House to suspend its regular business to deliberate on the widespread loss of property and displacement of families in the Jammu region due to incessant rainfall and flash floods.
