The Grand Junction Business Incubator Center (BIC) awarded a $1,210 check to the District 51 Foundation last week at the Mesa County Valley School District 51 Board of Education’s meeting.

The funds were raised through ticket sales to a community event featuring speaker Mark C. Perna, an event co-hosted by the D51 Foundation, District 51 and Colorado Mesa University. The event brought in parents, students and teachers to listen to Perna speak on proven strategies to help all audiences bridge the generational divide in motivating, equipping and retaining the younger generation.

“We are growing as a community. We have amazing generational expertise, and we have youth here that we are hoping to help give them purpose to stay and root here and find opportunity,” said BIC CEO Dalida Sassoon B
